Juniper Peliska is a professional Illustrator, Comic Artist, and Artisan who works under the pen name ‘Lepidoptera’.

A 2021 Sequential Art BFA graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Juniper lives in the United States with their partner and three cats: Eliot, Lupin III, and Percival.

Influenced by medieval history, gothic/cosmic horror literature, and their weekly tabletop games sessions, Juniper’s art displays the rich colours and fantastical characters of bygone days and imaginary lands. Their comic work often focuses on themes found in folk tales (often with a dip into the horror genre), and they strive to make their illustrations invoke the sensations of looking at the rich tones and textures of an illuminated manuscript. Juniper also enjoys the tactile experience of other artistic crafts such as woodburning and printmaking.

When not making art, Juniper can be found at the local antique store/flea market, watching old animated films, cooking, or listening to true crime podcasts and a chaotically diverse music playlist.
